LA CASA DI MICHELANGELO BUONARROTI:
Caprese Michelangelo extends the Valtiberina surrounded by Beeches, a mountain with a dense wooded area that surrounds it.
The origins of the village date back to the Etruscan age, but the town began to develop after the construction of the Castle. Even today the remains of the building can be seen most perched among lush vegetation that surrounds the walls.
Its history is linked to Michelangelo Buonarroti, born in 1475 in one of three buildings that now house the Michelangelo Museum. Inside there are some particular works of the Renaissance painter and sculptor Antonio Canova and futurist Boccioni.
Traditions and typical products:
Chestnut is the typical product of the area. The Caprese Michelangelo PDO Brown flour is used to prepare delicious sweets. In the village you can also taste the best wines of Tuscany lands. These include the Chianti Colli Aretini, Vinsanto del Chianti dei Colli Aretini in Birdseye and Valdichiana DOC.
